AquaAir diffused aeration offers super fine micro bubble aeration, which is an efficient way to transfer oxygen to a water body. This method involves a compressor pumping air air through a hose, which is connected to an underwater aeration unit. Attached to the unit are a number of diffusers. Air pumped through the diffuser membranes is released into the water and forms bubbles, these bubbles are known as fine bubbles. This type of aeration has a very high oxygen transfer efficiency so using fine bubble diffused aeration o maximizes the surface area of the bubbles and thus transfers more oxygen to the water per bubble. Additionally, smaller bubbles take more time to reach the surface so not only is the surface area maximized but so are the number of seconds each bubble spends in the water, allowing it more time to transfer oxygen to the water. The Oxymax system operates differently, Oxymax® Aeration Systems work from the bottom of the pond, completely submerged, out of sight and silent. They operate with an an electric motor coupled to a propeller water transport system. The oxygen-depleted water is moved rapidly from the bottom of the pond quickly and effciently to the surface. The cooler, denser water absorbs the oxygen as it quickly spreads across the pond and then returns down through the de-stratifed layers, providing equal distribution of oxygenated water.
